Coffee & Books for a Great Cause
As part of an off-the-beaten path tour with Small Car Big City Tours (highly highly recommended), we stopped at this cute coffee shop in Shoreditch.
They make you a damn good cup of joe, and they’re not doing it for profit. Paper & Cup is an arm of the Spitalfields Crypt Trust (SCT), a locally-based charity organization, that has been supporting people recovering from addiction by helping them to get clean and sober, develop self-respect and hope for a better future for over 50 years.
It’s a great place for a quick snack, to work, or to meet friends. They have a good selection of books to buy, and host small exhibits by local artists that rotate every few months.
If that’s still not enough to persuade you to step in, …they name their potted cacti. Meet Harper, Rudyard and Edith ; )
