Souq Waqif Falcon Hospital
Hunting with falcons is an ancient sport throughout the Arab world. To this day, it is widespread and taken seriously, with some birds fetching enormous prices. No surprise then, that Doha has a state of the art hospital for sick and injured falcons.
Visiting the facility takes you behind the scenes of falconry, and let’s you experience an important part of this intense Qatari pastime.
This is obviously not a tourist destination, so please be extremely respectful when you go inside to have a look and ask before taking pictures. Locals bring their unwell falcons there and are naturally anxious for their recovery.
